Out of state investing

Matthew Kirkham

Should I even consider looking for my first rental out of state? I have the makings of a team down in S.C. but live in Wis. Do I need a different LLC for each state with properties in it......Should I stay close to home at first? Thanks

@Matthew Kirkham
If the local market doesn't make sense in terms of the returns, the barrier of entry is quite high, or it's not a very landlord-friendly state look at investing out-of-state. Columbus OH is a great place to start looking in the Midwest. It's a nice balance of cash flow and appreciation. Also, it has lots of job opportunities and population growth
