Insurance for Vacant Property

David Dickerson
Posted

Hey Smart Peeps!

anybody have suggestions on insurance for vacant properties?   i've notice local reps don't get too excited about our vacant houses (when we're remodeling them to flip).  So far we've used Vacant Express, but am looking to see if there is a more affordable option.

Thanks,

David

@David Dickerson

Find a good insurance broker/agent, not necessarily the usual "big name" brands..  While terms may be slightly different in different markets, I usually get a Builder's Risk policy while I am renovating a flip.  This covers property.  If I'm stuck after the reno, like during covid lockdown, I then got a vacant home policy.
