Having Multiple Agents

Dustin Moon
Posted

I'm just starting out by looking for a house hack. I end up coming across two really friendly agents that are eager to help me over the phone and by email. They both have experience with what I've been searching for. I'd like to work with both of them but I've heard that is frowned upon. So how do I choose one agent over the other? And how do I let one agent know that I have chosen someone else?

Hi @Dustin Moon That's great but also difficult. Make sure that the person that you select has experience running the numbers, understanding exit strategy, off market listings, coming soon listings and rental experience. Most importantly this relationship is pretty intimate. You're going to be spending a lot of time with them talking about not only your finance but how you live. Finding someone you like and trust is important. Trust your gut. If you don't like the person you select you can always end the relationship and switch to the other agent. As long as you're not under contract. Then that get's tricky.

Yes, definitely let the other agent know you're not going to be working with them. It's the right thing to do. Really, it's as simple as- "thank you for your time, I'm moving forward with someone else. I'll let you know if anything changes". KEEP Relationships! You might need them in the future and you don't want to end things poorly. The investing world is very small.

Best of luck!
