Advice for setting up LLC in Ga

Hey everyone! I'm new to the bigger pockets community- starting the rookie bootcamp soon & I'm very excited. My husband & I want to set up our LLC, but I really don't know where to start. From what I've read in the forums, most of you advise against using online services such as legalzoom, or even setting it up on your own. Any recommendations on a particular attorney that has helped you in the past? Or advice on finding how to find a gooda local one? Is it as straightforward as googling them and choosing based on reviews or is there anything in particular I should be looking for? Thanks in advance!

Hi! I don’t have a recommendation for an attorney but there are plenty of them in GA.  With that said, If you’re simply registering a business you don’t really need an attorney. Just go to Georgia.gov/register-llc. All the steps are on the page. It’s really simple. The fee is just above $100 for the year. After that get your EIN from IRS.gov (for free). And you have a business. Nothing wrong with using an attorney at all. You can probably get decent context or ask questions if you have them but you don’t NEED an attorney and you can save some cash if you are comfortable completing the steps without one.
