Should I Contact the Flipper Directly

NA Smith
Posted

Hi.  I have been trying to buy the foreclosed property next to my house for some time.  I came in second at the auction and I have told the flipper who bought it I was still very interested.  He was very receptive until I think people have been expressing a lot of interest in the property and now he realizes he has more options.  Anyway, I had to limit my bid at the auction because I was unsure about the renovation costs, but now I can make a cash offer that is significantly above what I bid at auction.  Also, my max bid is above the median price per SF of recently sold properties in the area.  I also had title search done before the auction and so could close very quickly.  I am thinking of writing him to reiterate these points as I don't want to him to take another offer thinking there was no way I could afford it.  Is this a bad idea?  Thanks!  PS My main concern here is getting the house even if I overpay a bit for it.
