renting out but not sure how it works..

I have a house and it's rented do I have to have LLC? If so I only have one property?

How dose tax work? How can I try avoiding paying lot of taxes? 

What kind of insurance will be good for me (landlords)?

Do I have to tell my landlord that I am renting out my house?
