Making Connections (Out-Of-State Investing) - Bay Area

Nice to meet everyone! I'm a real estate investor looking to connect with anyone that is serious about out-of-state-investing. I started reading David Greene's book on out-of-state-investing and am super excited to start my journey.

My goal is to create a real estate investing group with people that are in the same boat as me! I'm also looking to join real estate investing group if anyone knows any!

Hey Danny, I moved to Columbus a few years ago (from Portland, Oregon which was super expensive) to become a full time real estate investor, and ever since, I've completed quite a lot of BRRRRs, flips, and own a successful rental portfolio here in Columbus Ohio. There's so many catalysts for population and job growth (Intel, Honda, Amazon, Nationwide Hospital, etc). I can definitely tell you there's still a lot of positive cash flowing and 1% rule deals and you get amazing appreciation. Hi Danny, I also read the same book, actually it was the audio book. I live in NY and have my R.E. LLC out in NC. Looking to connect with others as well with the same purpose. Need to create a circle of like minded people to gain the knowledge and experience to succeed in Real Estate.

Welcome! I've been investing in San Francisco Bay Area and the Indianapolis area. It's been an interesting journey - did a local renovation, learning about landlord tenant laws in S.F., and have been trying to do a BRRRR out of state, may go back to buying turnkey with my agent. I'm considering pivoting back to Northern California (Sacramento) because of the appreciation and it's within driving distance but requires a lot more capital. Also looking at syndications.
That's great that you have experience as a property manager. Would love to get together with other local investors to network, share ideas, etc.

@Danny Yeap I also live in a high-cost-of-living market (San Diego) and I invest out of state primarily in Oklahoma, but I own properties in Wisconsin and Florida as well. I work full time as a US Navy officer, but I knew I wanted to continue to build my portfolio, despite living in an expensive area.

In Reno we are getting a lot of interest in the Reno market from Bay Area Investors. While the intial cash flow is not as high as say Tennessee, but investors are looking at the equity in addition to the cash flow. I have found several properties in emerging areas that will cash flow and build equity. The equity is building is due to companies building factories like Tesla and other Silicon valley firms moving to Reno.
