Looking for REI Meet-ups

Bryson Davenport

I'm an aspiring investor looking to purchase my first investment property. Would love to know of some meetups in the area and find connections and mentors.

I just did a quick google search for REI meetups in Nashville and it looks like you have lots of options. I'd also recommend setting up a keyword alerts for "Nashville" here so you'll see when someone post about one. They'll typically include all of the surrounding cities in their post for this exact reason, so setup keyword alerts for those too.

I don't often see people have much luck getting a mentor by broadly asking for one in the forums. Put yourself in the shoes of the ideal person you want to help you. What would make them want to reach out to you to help you?

Build these relationships organically. If you want something, give something. See what the investors you want to help you need and start providing it. Maybe you can turn a property after a renter moves out. Maybe you can collect a rent check when they're on vacation, or help them find off market deals.

The point I'm trying to make is don't ask for something for nothing. Provide value and have a mentality of wanting to help others and people will naturally flock to you and want to help you succeed.
