Setting up STR property - expenses

Yeilee Woo
Posted

Hi - I bought my first property for a STR! Now I have to furnish the property as well as make some improvements to the property by hiring contractors. If I have not set up my LLC yet, is it wise to create an LLC and get a business credit card for those expenses? Or would it be okay to pay those expenses with a personal credit card?

I am trying to utilize the STR tax advantage to maximize on bonus depreciation in 2023. Thanks in advance for your response!

@Yeilee Woo - using your personal credit card could be viewed as piercing the corporate veil and negate any legal protection from forming your LLC.
