Buy Build Flip Program and/or Mentorship Alternatives?

Question

Hi Everyone -

I am located in the Central Valley, California - tough market. I am new to this industry but have extensive experience in leadership roles in Manufacturing. I am going to get into this industry as a career switch which is scary but I am confident in my drive, transferable skills, and ability to break down barriers. I am considering investing in Jerome Maldonado's BuyBuildFip program to accelerate my learning curve. Cost is high but I also know you have to pay to play sometimes and take risks. I am looking to speak to anyone who does this for a living building SFH or MFH, and anyone who has or is currently in this program. I want to make an educated decision for me and my family so any information anyone is willing to share their experience to help me get started in this I would greatly appreciate it. Alternatively, if you have other programs or mentorships you think may be worth looking into, or if you would be willing to take me under your wing - please let me know. If I join, I will be documenting my journey with hopes of others who want to learn as well.

If my best fiend told me they were going to implement this plan I would tell them not to.

Dave Ramsey talks a lot about making a career switch from your W2 job to your self built career. He compares it to jumping on a dock from a boat. Get the boat as close to the dock as you can before jumping, or in other words, make sure your side business is doing well before you leave your main job. I wouldn't leave my main job without a steady, proven, consistent alternative income source.

I also would advise them to not buy some guru's course. All the knowledge is already on the internet and at your library for free. Plus, like @Nicholas L. mentioned, you can go to meetups to learn. Use these forums too. Before spending hundreds or thousands on a course, try David Greene's book "BRRR"

could you try going to meetups for, say, 6-12 months, and see how far you can get just doing that?

i don't know anything about the program you mentioned, but i and others have benefited a lot from meetups
