In search of a mentor
Hello,
My name is Conner, and I’m an ambitious 18-year-old based in the Buffalo, NY area, actively looking to connect with an experienced real estate investor or agent who’s open to mentoring someone hungry to learn and grow in the field.
I’m prepared to provide value in any way I can—whether it’s being your boots on the ground for property photos, helping manage properties, or handling tasks that make your life easier. I’m highly motivated, reliable, and eager to absorb everything I can about real estate from someone who’s already walked the path.
I’ll be taking my New York State real estate exam in just a few days, and I’m looking to hit the ground running. If you're open to mentoring or could use a driven local partner, I’d love the opportunity to connect and learn from you.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Best regards,
Conner

Your approach is good, but you need to do it in person and after you already know someone for 3-6 months. You have to build trust to become a mentee of someone who has experience and is busy. Anyone can say that they are going to work hard for free and be an asset, but most people just say that to get advice. Build relationships at meetups and don't ask anyone for anything for six months, just ask them questions about their business, not for help.
