Getting started as an investor with some questions

Are there any investor that is savvy in the subject willing to meet. I would like to have a conversation one-to-one and ask questions about the market in Augusta, Georgia. I would like to meet someone that has already started or has ample experience in this market. I am willing to go for a coffee and a conversation to ask questions. Please let me know as I am trying to jump into my first investment, but I want to make sure that I am going to make the right choice in this market. If someone is willing to meet please send me a DM and we can set up a meeting time and place.

Thank you very much

Hey Giovanni,

I totally get where you’re coming from — when you’re new, nothing feels more valuable than sitting down with someone who’s already doing what you want to do. But here’s the thing: experienced investors usually have their plates full with deals, tenants, lenders, contractors, etc. Sitting down for a random coffee to field questions (without context or compensation) isn’t how most folks spend their time — especially when a lot of those same questions have already been answered here on BP, in books, or in local REIAs.

If you really want one-on-one help, a better route is to:

  • Join your local REIA (Augusta has one — networking there is gold). You’ll meet people organically and many are happy to share insights once you’ve built some rapport.

  • Offer value in return. Even something simple like bringing deal leads, offering to help with boots-on-the-ground tasks, or just covering lunch/dinner goes a long way.

  • Be specific. Instead of “I want to learn the market,” come with 2–3 concrete questions. That makes people much more willing to engage.

Investors aren’t trying to be standoffish — it’s just that their time is worth money, and they’ve usually put in years (and $$$) to gain the knowledge you’re asking for. Approach it with respect for that, and you’ll find more doors open.

Giovanni, I certainly appreciate where you are coming from. But out of curiosity
