Im Lee im 22 and currently live in New York, I constantly stress about how I'm going to take care of my family and become financially stable/Free. I do feel like I'm behind in life but I know I'm still young, I want to find a mentor it doesn't have to be in New York but I would love for people to share there knowledge in the comments on how they got where they are today and how to start.

Hi Lee from New York, New York-

You are 22 and constantly stress about how you are going to take care of your family and become financially stable/free and are looking for a mentor and for others to share their experience.

You are not alone and congratulations on seeing real estate investing as an important part of that process.

To get started, I would look for an investor friendly Realtor in the area you are looking to invest or house hack. This person should have a teacher's heart and be able to connect you with the other members of the team you will need like investor friendly contractors, inspectors, lenders, and so on.

In your position, and frankly all of our positions, you want to live below your means and have as much free working capital to invest, give to causes you care about, and save for emergencies.

Then, look to add income streams by renting rooms to others or spaces for storage-even if you rent.

Work on improving your skills. Think about getting licensed and helping other investors do what you also are doing--building wealth and reducing their taxes. Your investor friendly Realtor can be a resource to you on finding clients to help and how to provide exceptional service and results.

To Your Success!
