Mentorship and Advice

Logan Carter
Posted

Hello Everyone!

My Father and I are looking at getting started within the space of real estate investing. He's been listening to various BiggerPockets Podcasts and doing his own research for a few years now while I've only gotten started with educating myself just a year or so ago. He moved down to the Tampa area already and I'm currently in the process of trying to relocate myself. I'm posting for the first time here to see if there are any experienced people here in the area that maybe willing to mentor us a bit and provide some advice. We're looking at trying to execute our first deal (most likely a single family to start out) sometime mid to late next year!

Hey Logan,

One thing I’d recommend, especially as you’re relocating to the Tampa area, is getting plugged into local real estate meetups. BiggerPockets is a great place to learn and connect, but there’s nothing like being in the room with people who are actively investing in that specific market. You’ll get real-time insights, build relationships, and potentially find mentors organically.

Also, don’t feel like you have to rush into a deal just because you set a timeline. You’re already doing the right thing by educating yourselves—just make sure when the right opportunity comes, you’re both ready to act.

Wishing you both the best on your first deal!
