any advice for a newb?

Ok, so I have been following BP now and reading posts for over a month. I have always been interested in real estate and just recently figured out there is a difference between being a real estate agent and being an investor. Being in sales all my life I really enjoy business.  I use to sell cars and now I sell insurance.  I have also been looking into " freedom mentor" as I would feel more comfortable with a mentor, but willing to take help from anyone in the game.

I am currently in the northern Orlando area. My goals would be to make some cash wholesaling first then taking that into buy and flip opportunities.  I am motivated and a hard worker.  I am nervous about jumping in head first to situations I am not familiar with so that why ideally I would like to do a couple deals with some one or even sit in with deals they have going on to earn what the basic process is.

Like I said any help from fellow BP would be amazing. Books, videos, advice, and knowledge is much appreciated.

Thanks
