Questions before making my first purchase? Also new to the site.

I'm in a position to purchase my first rental property. Before I do should I establish a LLC or small business account(s) or just go into it with my name etc?

Also, I'm stationed/live in Washington and plan on purchasing in Missouri, what are some impacts are things to consider?
