mentorship...advice...lunch?

Question

hello, my name is justin. im from vincennes indiana. im very interested in real estate, all aspects and all levels. 
i would love to work for someone to learn the ropes and get involved. im extremely hard working and learn fast. Rehabbing, Commercial, Multi-families, i would enjoy any and every opportunity. i currently work full time as a firefighter, so this affords me lots of time off for my passion in real estate. 
if nothing else i would love to have lunch and pick the brain of an experienced investor.

My best advice to get started would be don't complicate things.

Find out what you want to do,
Learn about it,
then do it.

don't get caught in the trap of becoming a real estate "Infovestor"....Hey I just made that up...Iike it?

An infovestor is a wannbe real estate investor that never invests in any house but invests alot into information about investing in houses.

Finance is a great place to start, but and even better place to start is laying out a wealth plan taking into account where you currently are and where you want to end up.

Justin, Finance is a fine place to start. You need to learn all about the ways the game is played on a conventional level, so that you can appreciate the more creative strategies of REI financing. Good luck, Mike

does anyone know of university courses that focus on real estate. im currently enrolled for finance (just started) or is that more of a masters specialty.
