Should I go to school for real estate license??

Hi Everyone,

So to get my foot in the door, I want to get my real estate license.  From what I understand, in Wisconsin it's required to take a 72 hour course or 10 credits from an accredited college before taking the real estate exam.  Since I have free tuition through the GI Bill, I'm thinking about getting a real estate certificate (15 credits) next semester offered through UW-Milwaukee before taking the exam or taking classes at a local community college in lieu of the 72 hour course.  I realize I'll probably have to take the 72 hour class anyhow in order to pass the exam, but I feel like the additional education will only be beneficial.

Has anyone else taken real estate courses through a university?  Would I be wasting my time?  Should I just take the 72 hour course?
