Am I falling for a scam?

Question

I have recently made a call to an real estate company that is looking for people to train and sell homes for them. I did one interview and the owner was telling me that he will help me get my license and guide me on selling homes along with mentoring. he told me that for every home I sell I will get a 3% commission. Is this normal? Am I getting scammed for licensing fees?

Also he said I had to be part of the local housing association. Please any feedback would be much appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Do they have a website? Can you look up reviews? As much as you'd think you are interviewing for a sales agent "job", you actually need to interview the brokerage and see if they are a good fit for YOU and YOUR real estate business.

It sounds like a real estate brokerage is trying to hire you as an agent and help you pay for school.

What are you doing in the mean time?  You can still keep looking while you take up this offer?

Like the above lady says. Look them up and look up the principals on the Internet, on Facebook and on Linkin.  Let us hear what you find.  Do an investigating job.

Calif RE Agents split a 6% fee at closing;  50/50 twix seller's abd buyer's agents.

Well, that depends on how you look at it. My attorney's favorite saying is real estate license is a license to steal...haha So - should you worry :)
