Agent / Investor

Hello everyone!

I have recently obtained my real estate license. I also have a full time job but would be slowly transitioning into real estate full-time.

Of course, being 20 with a 25k/year job and lack of experience, I can't jump hop out and buy my first big apartment complex. (I know it sounds like a limiting belief but hear me out.)

So my plan is to continue working full time (for now); to fuel my real estate business, start building a client base, (fingers crossed with a few commissions) and then start finding/obtaining rental units for my portfolio.

With all of that in mind, I was thinking maybe it would be smart idea to find and work more with investors as clients. No investor wants an uneducated agent to assist them, which is why I am here...

Investors! What do you look for in an agent that makes them standout?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @Jonathan Thomas, welcome to the fabulous world of being a real estate agent!  Working with investors is definitely a great, great way to get in the business.  Make sure you know what you're talking about, and can truly convey how you will personally add value to their dealings.  I'm young as well and am working with a variety of different investor clients, and its all because I know what I'm talking about.

Educate yourself tirelessly and know your stuff better than the next guy is the best advice I can give :)
