Starting out as a student! Where do I start?

Question

Hi Biggerpockets community! I am currently an undergraduate student at NYU. I just started reading Brandon's book "Rental Property Investing" and am excited to jump into the fascinating world of real estate. My question to you all is where do you recommend I start as a student with limited resources? If anyone is in the greater New York area and could give further advice on what it's like here that would be even better! Thank you so much and I am excited to learn from all of the great thinkers here!

Go listen to all of the BP Podcasts, you'll learn what you want to do there.Also read -Millionaire real estate investor by Gary Keller-Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki

Use those to create your mindset and criteria.Then go buy your first property. You can do it =)

Locate and attend 3 different local REIA club meetings great place to meet people gather resources and info. Here you will meet wholesalers who provide deals and rehabbers (cash buyers). Find them through Google and meetup.com

Two Great reads, I bought both J. Scott The Book on Flipping Houses,  The Book on Estimating ReHab Costs  http://www.biggerpockets.com/flippingbook

You might consider Niche or Specialized Housing like student housing. Rents can be 2-4 times more. Remember you don't have to own a property to control it.
