Best part time RE jobs?

Hi all,

I currently work a full time 8-5 job in Dallas but am eager to get started in real Estate. Just don't have a lot of cash right now. My thoughts were to get a part time job where I can work nights or weekends just to get my feet in the door and start networking. I was hoping you wise members of BP could suggest a few places to start.

I am open to anything from basic roles at a title company to a part time RE agent as I can take phone calls throughout the day at my current job. Or possibly working in property management. I know there are lots of options, just wanted to here some suggestions.

I only plan to do this Job for half a year before jumping to part time INVESTING when I have some cash savings.

@David Faulkner I am half way done with the classes to obtain my license, but the only snag is what you were saying is trying to find a broker willing to do part time. But I am sure if I look hard enough, I can find one.

I think showing and selling houses as a realitor will be a great way to find out if I really will enjoy RE.

I would agree that getting your license and working as a realtor is a great option. The beauty is your clients will all likely be working at the same time you are working. So, if you need to show them something, it will likely be at nights or weekends. There will be other work, like getting contracts signed, etc. but most of these can also be done nights and weekends. For the remaining stuff, it is possible that you may need to occasionally take or make a brief call on your cell phone during business hours ... hopefully you have the flexibility for that and can manage with your other priorities and responsibilities. If so, then the only other thing would be to find a broker to hang your hat under that is ok with part time agents ... not all will be, but it is not altogether uncommon, so you should be able to find one.
