Assembling my team, but who do I look for

I'm looking to build my team to pursue REI but I'm not fully sure who to acquire. My wife and I recently talked with a RE agent who we met through another friend of mine. My friend has similar RE goals so we figured we'd give it a shot with his agent. Needless to say, we are confident moving forward with him as our agent.

Next, I'm looking to speak with a loan officer so that our finances are together, we know what our pre-approval is, and we don't miss out on any opportunities. We missed on a possible investment this past week because we took too long to figure out how much we qualified for thus we weren't ready to put in an offer.

I'd really appreciate a mentor since I have so many questions. I've been furthering my knowledge everyday by reading, listening to podcasts, browsing forums on BP but everytime I learn something new, I end up having more questions. A mentor, who has similar goals as I do, could definitely assist with alleviating the stress that comes with knowing more. If there are any mentors willing to help my wife and I, I would definitely give back in "sweat" equity.

BP ohana (family), what other members are "key" to have on a team? Surrounding myself with like-minded people that are way smarter than I am in certain aspects of RE, down to earth, and honest are the main characteristics I look for in a team member. Thank you all in advance. ALOHA!

The most important part of your team will be your RE attorney.  Find one that already works with investors, or better yet invest in real estate themselves.   Look for someone 40 or older, you don't want a new lawyer.  The lawyer can turn your screw ups in to success and keep you out of trouble.
