Hello @Herbert Lewis ! Welcome to the BP Community!
Adding your last name to your yellow letter is really just personal preference. I have seen names on all different parts of the spectrum: Claire, Claire T., Claire Trammell, C. Trammell.
I'm partial to first name in the body of the message and full name in the signature area.

Hello my name is Dwayne Johnson. I am an investor in New Jersey. My wife and I found that the people that we mail to become more personal (giving more personal info about the home)when they see a first and a last name. It may have something to do with the seller have more of a chance to have something in common with your names. (I.E. a family member with the same first or last name) I think that the sooner you can get them to let their protective guard down the better (easier) it will be. We put my wife's name on our yellow letters. We spoke to a lady who told my wife that she was tired of speaking to investors trying to lowball offer her!! My wife is superior, when it comes to speaking to sellers over the phone. We were at a stand still because we needed the house to be at a certain price point but she ( the seller) wanted $15000 more. So finally I just spoke to her. I started by saying hello my name is Dwayne Johnson. Her response was "like The Rock" (in my head "yes instant rapport) long story short (well not that short lol) we closed a nice seller finance deal all because of "The Rock" thanks Dwayne "the Rock Johnson... Happy Investing!!!
