Hi BP,

I am looking to purchase my first house early next year. What are some tips, advice that one could give to a first time home buyer? What should I expect with Taxes in Austin, TX, inspections, commissions, closing cost, etc? I am nervous about this first big move and would appreciate all the advice I could get on BP.

I'm sure you know this but, don't make any big purchases on credit between now and then. Don't have your credit reports pulled by a bunch of lenders. Get your income to debut ratio looking as good as you can between now and then.
