Someone in Memphis TN?

Question

Hi, I am Santiago Mejia. I am looking for someone with experience who can help me buying my first investment in Memphis TN. Also I am looking for someone who can guide me in this journey. I am a really handy man. My work give me the option to work or do anything in the afternoons. So how can I take advantage of this time? I was thinking that I can work with other investors in this time flipping or managing properties so I can learn more about the business. So who wants a guy with two Masters working for you in exchange of some knowledge and guidance? Haha. But seriously. If anyone can help me doing some connections.

@Santiago Mejia sounds like you need a Realtor who owns rental properties.  Douglas is that person as he owns a ton and is a Realtor.  I own quite a few, but Douglas is sort of like Don Fanucci on the 5th. He puts on his white suit and goes around his neighborhoods and collects rent. Seriously though, he can help as you certainly want a Realtor who owns property.

One question guys. So I have the money for my first investment here in Memphis. I have to buy it before my lease will be over in May. How can I find a Multifamily (My wife works downtown) in Midtown or in a neighborhood A or B? We currently pay $1300 in rent in high point terrace and we are looking for something similar. Everyone has been telling me that it is really hard to find this kind of property. So what should I do? I don't have access  to MLS. Should I look for a Wholesaler? Thank you for your answer.

@Sam Wilson I haven't because I want to learn how to work with the numbers first.Thanks for the idea. I will do that later on.

We currently live in High Point Terrence (38111) and we would like something here or midtown where we can live for a year and learn about property management too, what do you all think about this?. I am excited because this is not the only project that we have prepared for this year. Thanks for all your comments.

@Santiago Mejia be careful of MF in Memphis. Go to LR, it is 2 hours West and MF works much better there then in my hometown of Mphs.
