Hey everyone I'm just starting out and I was wondering, whats better to get my real estate agent license or brokers license? or are they both the exact same. I'm really only wanting to aquire it for my real estate investing career but it would be nice to have a fall back plan if all else fails or if i wanted to do something on the side. which one has the potential to make more? I really appreciate any info i can get, thanks everyone!

@Max Allendorf as @Christopher Phillips said, you will need to be a salesperson first and work toward your Brokers license. Be sure you understand all the costs and additional disclosure and obligations you will have when you become a Realtor. There are perks, like easy access to listings and the ability to get yourself into properties and write your own offers, that can help a real estate investor.

I think the most important thing is to really learn the business from the perspective of an investor. There are very experienced and talented Realtors that do not understand the business of real estate investing, they are not the same business.

Hope this helps,
