Hi everyone, I'm in high school and when I go to college I want to get an associates degree in real estate because my dad said I have to go to at least two years in college. Does anybody have any recommendations of where to go in or near New York to get an associates degree in real estate. Please give some advice to me, thanks!
Why do you want a degree in real estate? Is it to become an agent or just for the education. You can take classes online for agent in NY state it's cheaper and faster way to become an agent.
As someone that accidentally got two associates degrees while making a pit stop at community college (seriously, I was just checking UC Berkeley transfer boxes with no degree in mind) on the way to university, I assure you that they hold no resume value and no one cares.
As someone that works in real estate professionally, I assure you that no one cares what you majored in either.
I'm not telling you it's a bad idea, that's up to you. But the value proposition of a 2 year degree ought be based PURELY on what you will actually learn, not based on the notion that anyone will be impressed by a 2 year degree.
@Erik Raz .@Chris Mason I will be doing this because my dad is telling me that I have to go to college for at least two years, do you guys think I should just stay for the two years or go four years for a bachelors degree, would I learn enough with just an associates or should I get the bachelors, would the bachelors be enough to learn if the associates isn't enough ?
Michael Kantar go get an associates and keep learning through books, podcasts and sites like this. If you go to a community college you'll save a ton of money and you can transfer to a 4 year later if you think you need to.
