What's up BP ! I've been reading a lot about investing with a full time job. My question ? Do you think can invest full time with a part time job?
i live in Hawaii and I've been woundering if it's even possible with the high prices out here ? lol I don't know how anyone does it.
Please let me know what you guys think I can't wait to hear from you all thanks in advance investors !
You certainly can invest while working. That is how most investors get started!
You may find opportunities right there on the islands, but consider mainland investments as well. You will need to find a realtor or wholesaler who works with investors and has a rehab team, but there are many opportunities in cities across the country. Phoenix and Detroit of all places come to mind. get educated on the business, especially property and market evaluation, rehab and how to determine your scope of work, and loan options for investors like hard money for distressed properties.
I feel the same way you do. I was working full time, but when I got off work, I had the kids and my wife. After that, I was tired. So, I never really go into Real Estate the way I wanted to. However, I am starting to make baby steps.
Thank you @Lynn Dee Murrow for sharing. I just moved from Detroit to Oklahoma. It is completely different here. I'm starting to see that it is difficult to find deals like Detroit here. But, I haven't started my search yet. To be honest, I think I may have to go into North Tulsa.
Quick question Lynn, before I left Detroit, I went to the Real Estate One class. I was told I can take my test in Oklahoma for Michigan. But, I still want to practice Michigan Real Estate while living here. Do you have any tips on how I can do that?
@Joseph Abbott you should be able to do your tests online. I would find a Broker/Sponsor that is all online so it does not matter where you are. If its for your own investment purposes you should be fine.
We invested extensively with full time jobs. We spent several years being exhausted but it worked and now we are self-employed. Go for it.
I believe anyone (Open challenge) would be hard pressed to find deals as sweet as here in Detroit.
With that being said I totally encourage you and folks to work on Detroit deals from wherever you are.
I am a Broker here in MI and am open to discuss your license and practicing here. Drop me a line.
wow ! Thanks guys really appreciate the feed back ! I'll keep my head up and keep moving forward !
I will look at other chances outside of the islands and how I can make deals work for me the thought never really crossed my mind lol
