Prop Insurance - Clearwater fl

Hello BP community,

I'm working on my first purchase... it's a 4plex in Clearwater FL. I'm not sure if this the appropriate area to ask but I was hoping people would share who they use for property insurance and if they like or would steer clear of them.

Also looking for umbrella policy as well so recommendations would be great.

Safeco will do an umbrella with your auto coverage. Most will ask for the auto business too, so be aware.

I used to have FPIC for property insurance, but they were bought by Avatar and my rates jumped 40%. I have been very happy with American Integrity Insurance Co. Great rates for rental properties.

I recommend you speak to Kent, Chad or Richard Kirchen at the Assurance Risk Managers (Family business). There you have guys with degrees in risk management, and can make qualified recommendations for the coverage you need. They aren't salesmen, they are advisors that can get you the correct coverage you need.

Good luck!

I have a guy I use as well, a good personal friend who works at a family owned insurance company, I have referred him to 10+ people on here and all have given him high recommendations as well. Send me a PM if you want his info

we like Betsy @ Community Insurance Group in Brandon.  does the research, friendly and timely responses.
