Secondary number for business, does area code really matter?

Hey guys I am going to start wholesaling and flipping with a local mentor, and he told me to get a secondary phone number to use for business. I have tried getting a google number but the only ones I could find used an area code that was from out of state. I would prefer to get one that is my local area code so it's more appealing to the owners and people in my area. What do ya'll use to accomplish this? Am I coming at this all wrong, does it really even matter to sellers that my area code is from out of state?  I know when I receive a call from an out of area number that I don't recognize I ignore it, so that's why I am asking you guys and gals!
