Is it standard that an agent ask for you to sign forms BEFORE viewing a property? We are being told that it is standard practice to sign the following: Understanding Whom Real Estate Agents Represent - Buying Flagship Communications Consent 1217 Exclusive Buyer/Tenant Representation Agreement (MAR) Consent for Dual Agency (MREC)

Not only is it standard, it is the law in Maryland.  You need to either sign an agency relationship with the agent, and if you dont want to sign that one then they need to provide you with understanding whom the real estate agent represents, and check that they are representing the seller as a subagent if you dont want an agency relationship.  Sign one or the other, or they cant show you the property.
