I recently attended the free class offered by Fortune Builders and I decided to sign up for the weekend retreat. I also signed up for the online course about tax lien investing. Has anyone on this forum attended this, or do you have any advice about it? I have read mixed reviews about it and I am interested to hear your thoughts. Thank you.

@Account Closed i see it is your first post so welcome to BP.  i have no specific experience with Fortune Builders. I do have a lot of experience with tax liens.  Tax liens are a strategy that can be made to sound very safe and a win win. You either get high interest or you get a property for pennies on the dollar.

That sales pitch is theoretically possible but in the real world it is total baloney. Tax lien auctions are very competitive. There are many hidden traps in tax sale.  Tax sales and laws governing them vary tremendously by state, and sometime local jurisdiction.  This is why I am skeptical of anyone teaching tax sale on a national basis. You are not going to get enough specific information about the area you choose to invest.  I would be particularly skeptical if they try to sell you software or tax liens themselves.
