Hello All, My name is Jonathan Dowling, and I want out of the Rat Race. I’ve been wanting to do something that provides passive income for a few years now but didn’t really know how or where to start. A friend recommended this community to me so I started with the podcasts and head the book title Rich Dad Poor Dad. I pick it up and fell in love with the idea. So for the past few days I’ve started my education and trying to come up with my strategy to enter the world of Real Estate Investing. Me and Mine: I’m 33 years old. Spent 8 1/2 years in the Navy as a Nuclear Reactor Operator (Electronics Technician Nuclear). Got married in 2011. Left the Navy in 2012. I’ve been at my current W2 job since 2012. I work for Southern Nuclear Company as a Licensed Reactor Operator. Which I don’t mind just don’t enjoy either. I have one daughter that is 3 years old and one due in January. I make more money now than I ever thought I would but I’m not great at saving. Currently the only debt we have is a mortgage and a truck payment. Goal: I would like to be out of the Rat Race in five years after I start my first deal, (5 years plus education time) and on my way to financial freedom. Plan (possibly): So I’m really like the idea of flipping houses as a start to gain capital to buy MFRs. Obviously plan is very basic and about a 30000 ft view. Welcome.  I am in Augusta as well.  It sounds like you have a good aggressive goal and overview plan.
