Words of advice before talking to a “guru”

Kris Asbell
Posted

Hello everyone, I am just starting my journey into real estate investing. I have a call scheduled for tomorrow from a guru. I am kind of regretting scheduling this call since I have discover BiggerPockets, but I figured I might as well hear him out. Does anybody have any advice for me before I take this call?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, don't spend any money on it!  You have such a great resource here at BiggerPockets.  Listen to the podcasts, read books, and follow the forums.  You are just getting started and there is so much you can learn for free.  Gurus just take what money you would have to invest in your first property.  You can easily find what you need to know to make a good first investment, and you will learn the rest as you continue investing.
