Need some advice on investing a Resort community?

I am looking to invest in Margaritaville's Orlando Resort. The development is still under construction  so I have time to do research. Does anyone have any experience in  vacation rentals within a resort community?

Thanks Keith! I have been in contact with a sales rep from Margaritaville Orlando.  She supplied me with 2 property management companies.  www.vstays.com and www.rentyl.com  Have you had any dealing with either of these two?  My interest in vacation rentals is the probability of continuous income.  I am also not very handy when it comes to maintenance.  Do you have any suggestions for a first time investor?

Hi Joshua -

I deal a lot in short term rental vacation homes in the Disney World area and am familiar with Margaritaville.  I would encourage you to contact their sales team and ask for contact information for the approved property managers.  I would then contact the property managers and ask for their charges especially what they charge for short term rental marketing.  Unless something has changed recently, I think you will find it will be very difficult for you to profit on one of the homes because of the high percentage they charge for each booking.
