Real Estate options for Expats

Hi,

I am a Canadian expat. I never invested in real estate. I want to create a real estate portfolio that will support me for retirement. Unfortuantley, I am planning to live in different countries. So I will not stay in one country for too long. So I will need a property manager( a good one) to manage my properties for me as I will be too busy on my work or be in another country.  Do you know of good books that I can read regarding investing real estate as an expat or investing in real estate in abroad? Do you know where I can find a list of countries to avoid investing in real estate? Which countries do expats typically invest? What properties do expats typically invest? Do you know which books/sources for finding a good property managers? Are property managers necessary in this case? Do you know of real estate investors who are expats whom I can follow on Youtube or can talk to?  Thank you so much for your help.
