New RE agent, HUGE BP Troll...

Hey everybody,

I have been trolling BP for about a year now and reading everything I can on RE investing. I am a newly licensed RE Agent in the DFW market and need advice on how to get started working with other investors. I would like to be able to learn from some seasoned veterans while also being able to make a small living as an agent until I can purchase my first property.

My long term goal is to be able to own enough rental properties that will cashflow greater than my required income to survive ($3000/month) plus a cushion of cash so I can dedicate fully to investing and not work as much on the retail side of the business.

Any tips/suggestions on finding investors to learn from first hand in DFW?

Thanks

Be honest in your listings - I once flew to DFW to look at an apartment touted by the listing agent as being 100% occupied. When we got there we found 15 units occupied and others all boarded up for a 112 unit apartment. It was also near the railroad tracks where all the hobos came through the fence at night looking for a place to sleep. By being honest - you will keep your clients happy and not leave a bitter feeling towards realtors in general. That apartment building may have been "100% occupied at night" but rents were not being paid by the "residents"!
