First Investment Property Checklist

Hey BP family! I am brand new to the real estate industry/business and am looking to purchase my first investment property through house hacking next year. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on what I should have in place before I look to buy, such as a checklist of things that I need to do first like who to contact, whether or not set up a business entity, etc. I want to make sure that when I buy my first property that I am as ready as I possibly can be and minimize the headaches and mistakes that comes with buying my first property. Also I am looking to invest in the Houston and/or College Station area so if anyone has any specific advice regarding the local market I would appreciate it if you can help me out. Thank you!
