Sending out business cards?

Question

I would like to ask on how you go about on sending out your business cards in your target location?

For instance how do you go about on sending them to every mailbox in a certain section of town? do you go to the post office and set something up? also is this the same way as you would do when sending out letters?

Hi Shannon,

You could contact your local title company and either ask them to compile a list for you or request a "title log on profile" and play with the system yourself by typing in the zip code, foreclosures, absentee owners, etc. A more expensive way is to sign up for the monthly service of something like foreclosureradar.com ( I hope that's allowed). The use of postcards/letters was also my other option. If you don't mind me asking how do you "find" your targeted audience? for instance I would like to target people that may be losing their homes due to a death, divorce, loss of job, ect.. how would I compile a list of these types of persons and send them?

I have never done anything like this; so I'm a bit lost.

I've never tried sending business cards via mail as a solo piece.  I've included them in letters or thank you cards.  Why not use a postcard mailing as an expanded business card?
