Reached Financial Freedom but what now?

Question

Curious what people's thoughts are on this topic. I'm 30 and I'm on the brink of financial freedom through passive out-of-state rental income but what now? Work has been really stressful over the years and I would happily "retire" from my dayjob but my family says retiring at 30-35 is nonsense.

I don't really have a dream job (at least one that I'd be qualified for) and I've got a lot of life left to go. Has anyone else been in the same boat? What have you chosen to do with your time?

Account Closed, that's a great problem to have! I know a few people that were in those shoes. You put all your efforts in one goal and now that is fulfilled you are not sure what else is out there.

The secret is making a list of 100 goals of where you want to go, what you want to see, who you want to move, what experiences you want to have, and assign them in 1, 3, 5, 10 years goal lists!

And a fast way to design your future is to go to a Tony Robbins events "Unleash the Power Within" - That might really inspire you to create the amazing life that is ahead of you! You could take a year off work to figure it out, you could take mini-retirement, you can try multiple businesses or jobs, now that the money is not an issue!

How would you live your life now that you don't have to go by any 9:00-5:00 norms?

Hi Account Closed, congrats on achieving financial freedom at such an early age. Financial freedom doesn't have to meet not working but rather having the freedom to pursue our true passions. How about taking some time, probably with a coach or mentor, to find out what it is that you really want out of life and that way you can design your life to help you achieve that. Good luck!

To be honest, I'd really like to stay involved in real estate as I seem to have grown passionate about it, but I'm not sure how since all my properties are a 3hr plane ride away and investing nearby isn't much of an option.

What does "financial freedom" mean to you? Enough income to pay the basic bills? Or enough to travel the world, learn new hobbies (expensive ones even) and do whatever you really want to do. If its the latter, your options are unlimited. If its the former, you probably need to work a bit more..

Are you sure you can live off your cash flow forever? Are your rentals paid off? Can you retire, go on month long vacations and buy your dream house in cash?

Not to burst your bubble, great job on your rentals paying your break even. Actually, use your retirement to teach other people how to achieve financial freedom too.

Financial freedom gives you options and opportunities. I love my w2 job and plan to work for several more years. If I was in your shoes and didn’t like my job, I would use your financial freedom to figure out your passion or a career that you enjoy more and keep building your net worth and personal interests at the same time. I wouldn’t just retire and just watch tv the rest of your life.
