Overcome that initial fear

Any tips or tricks on overcoming the fear and nervousness that comes with that first investment? You know what I'm talking about. That worrie of failing and loosing your investment. I've spent the last few months flipping cars off facebook to build up enough capital to start realestate investing with. I've read several books, youtube videos, podcast, etc. I'm just really having a hard time making that first jump.

Here is what helped me @James Francisco: The realization that by taking control of my future by taking action, I am reducing my risk long-term. It is the same as with our health - if we stop smoking now, we increase our long-term health potential. If we take action now, learn, grow and invest properly, I reduce the risk of not being financially stable in the long-term. That was a huge mindset shift for me... that by taking action, I'm actually doing the LESS risky thing. It might FEEL more risky because it is not known or I'm not the expert at that point in time, but am I an expert stock-picker? Nope... just been duped into believing I can do it. Stay humble, ask questions, learn and take action. The Good book talks so much about how Faith is so powerful because we truly grow, expand and encounter the best things in life when we experience the things on the other side of fear.
