Hi everyone!
I'm new to the forums but have been listening to BP for a few weeks now. I'm really motivated to get things started and start building up a pipeline of deals. I'm curious which texting tools people prefer and why? Since I'm a newbie, I'm looking for something that is inexpensive but user friendly. Thanks in advance!!

Welcome to BiggerPockets. Be aware that most mass texting is done illegally. You need opt-in consent before sending a message. Most services falsely advertise compliance to federal law.

Since you have to ask for consent before sending, it means you need an existing relationship. So for example, you could send text to a buyers list if they buyers agreed to it. It you are randomly texting home owners you have never talked to, that would be against the law.

Thanks Joe, I did not think about that, so definitely good to know! I will definitely stick to texting with buyers who have given me the OK before breaking the law!

While I'm no fan of unsolicited texts, you can look at peer to peer texting platforms. They use a live agent, so technically you do not currently need opt ins. Anyway, my advice would be not to use texting without consent.

1st. You can not be selling anything.
2nd. I believe you must make an offer to purchase.
3rd. If they tell you to stop, by all means STOP.
