How to get into real estate careers

Question

I am currently a college student majoring in business and marketing with a minor in leadership as well. I have recently become very interested in real estate, to the point that I want to get some experience and see if it is really for me. I plan to acquire my real estate license after graduation and a few avenues that I have looked into to gain exposure would be becoming a property manager or a real estate agent. I am looking for any advice on things to look into, or any way that I can be exposed to real estate!

If I were you... I would (a) get my real estate license, (b) focus on being a listing Agent, and (c) make it my goal to do 25 transactions my first full year in real estate.  The more you transact, the better you will understand pricing in your markets; understanding pricing and value is the key to being a successful real estate investor.  I am more than 1,000 transactions in and I still run multiple value reports daily to keep myself up to speed.

If you understand value in real estate, you will succeed!!!  I hope this helps!!!

Auctioneers make a fortune as a business.  You can work maintenence for another investor or property manager and get paid while you learn on the job.  Go to REI meetings and learn from other investors and all kinds of people in all different areas of real estate.  FIND OUT WHAT YOU WANT TO DO, LEARN ON SOMEONE ELSES DIME AND GET IT DONE!
