Home equity loan on rental
My brother and I have lived in a Duplex that is paid off. I just purchased a house and am in the process of moving out, he is getting married and plans to move soon. The deed is in my name but I want to compensate him for his half. The property probably needs about 10k in repairs to get rent of about 900 per unit a month. market value of about 160k.because of my new mortgage I would not qualify for a standard HELOC. how can I go about getting a loan on this property with no rent coming in yet?
