Where to register my LLC?

I am new to the real estate investing world and after much studying and research, I am ready to take the big step. I'm currently searching for my first rental property to purchase. I am also in the process of setting up an LLC to run my real estate business, however I will be investing out of state since my city is too expensive to start.

I am looking for advice and opinions on whether to register the LLC in the state I live or the state I'm investing in? Does it make a difference, will there be any hurdles with buying real estate using an out of state LLC and will it affect taxes? Any point of view on this will be much appreciate. Thanks.
