Where should a student (pursuing REI) look to work?

Question

Hi all, I am a 21y/o senior in College and will graduate this Spring. I've got one more year until the "real world" hits, so now is the time to act on shaping my future. My past jobs have been great, but they've never got me any closer to my goals of actually learning about Real Estate/Investing. I read books about investing and listen to podcasts nonstop, and it has definitely helped to grow my knowledge. However, my biggest goal right now is to get hands-on experience. I'd love to receive some input and thoughts in the comments! Thank you all!

Since you're going to have to learn how to get a list together (ie make contacts) and want to learn the math on investing, call a commercial broker focused on apartments.

If you have a license and want to hustle and don't mind calling people you don't know, then it'd be the quickest way to learn - Even if that means it's not for you.

I wanted to learn about REI so I became a lender. At the end of the day, we all are wanting to invest in RE so we have financial freedom, so I thought the best opportunity was to learn to understand the money and how finance really works. Not sure where you're located, but I believe FBC Mortgage has a recent grad program. Or at least they did back when I was graduating college. That might be worth checking out.

Im new as well but I’ve given house hacking a thought as a way to live for free.

Obviously you still want a good source of income to reinvest.
