Finding a Realtor

I have a few rookie questions about finding a realtor.

First of all, how did you find your realtor? Do you just go to the local offices and talk to each of them to decide who you want to work with?

Are there certain realtors who are more familiar with working w/ investors? And how would I go about finiding one?

And lastly, if I wanted to buy a property out of state, do I need to hook up with a realtor in that area, or will a realtor local to me be able to work that deal with me?

Thanks in advance!

Chris Rusoff everyone has to start somewhere so it is good you are asking questions and trying to learn before just jumping in blind.

Definitely, get an agent that specializes in the area you are trying to invest in. You can lose a lot of money by going with an agent that is no experienced in your desired area.

Secondly, try to get a referral or recommendation from someone that has experience in that area. If you can't find a solid referral then interview several agents. Ask as many questions as you can think of. After interviewing several of them you should have a good feel for who knows whats going on in that market. Go with whoever you feel is the most knowledgeable and whom you feel the most comfortable with.

If you post what areas you are looking to invest in perhaps some fellow BP members can offer some good referrals for you.

If you are ever looking for properties in Las Vegas don't hesitate to contact me, I would be happy to help!

Good luck!
