What is your pitch? Marketing yourself...

Question

I took down a few properties last month and will take down another this month.  I have been "celebrating" my success on Facebook so all my friends and family know I am into REI and looking to buy properties.  My questions are, how else should I be getting the word out there?

I was talking to my insurance broker yesterday about adding properties and I told her "I am looking to buy more properties, so let me know if anyone you know is looking to sell.  I buy properties in any condition."

How do you approach getting the word out that you are looking to buy more properties?  What is your "pitch"?

I think the simplicity is key. People do not want to dig into long paragraphs or pitches. Your best bet is to be on their mind and keep reminding them. Just continuously share your updates in casual forms along with your normal life so it does not feel like an advertisement. Then, when they are ready they will think "Oh I know Nicholas wants to buy houses, let me give him a call.". Best of luck and if you are ever interested in the red hot Rock County market, lets connect!

Everyone LOVES a story about "helping hands"! Look how many make national headlines and raise tons of money with crawd funding.

So, tell a story about how you helped someone out of a tough spot. If you're really slick, you can create stories around a specific target seller, area, etc and artfully share this story to geneate interest - and it doesn't have to be something you've done.

People will remember your stories more than they will remember you...

I think Filipe is on the right track with pitching what you can do for them. You also need to be able to boil down what you do in to a couple of sentences. That's where I'm struggling. I'm not sure what my niche is yet.

Frame what you do around solving a problem for someone else @Nicholas Ludwiczak. By doing so, your pitch becomes about how you can help them, rather than how they can help you. I can't think of an exact way on how this can be done in what you do (partly because I don't know what your model is) but I can give you mine. Not that it's amazing and the most wonderful thing since slice bread, but it is an example.

"Hi, my name is Filipe, I am in the business of saving people their most valuable asset, time. I do this through automation, processes and by taking the things that drive you crazy off your plate."

At this point I haven't REALLY said what I've done and I almost certainly have their attention. So continuing...

"We're able to offer these benefits through our property management company. If you know of anyone that is struggling right now as a landlord, we'd be happy to see if we could help them in any way."

Admittedly I haven't done much of this, but if I was going to, that's probably where I would start. I'm sure someone much smarter than I will have something better, lol.
