Getting Real Estate License?

Question

Hi All, I hope to get your opinion on getting a real estate license. At this point, I am not seriously considering real estate agent career. I am new to real estate investing. I hope to get some form of fundamental education on this, beyond hearing information from here and there. I am thinking of getting some real estate education by taking real estate license courses. However, I wonder if this is beneficial to just get the license by taking the exam afterward? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

@Hongling Lu Hey! I dont have my license and I invest, I know alot of people who do the same.

In the end if confidence is what you are lacking in, then work learning mastering investing.  Master a strategy, a location, a financing method and analyzing deals.

Real estate school will not teach what you need to know about being an investor.  I agree with all the things @J. Henriquez said.  Not enough advantage for the liability you incur.

I totally understand where you are coming from. My opinion is that you should not become a real estate agent if you are only doing it because you think it will help you invest in real estate. It doesn't really help as much as you think and you will end up taking on a lot of liability, fees, and training that comes with the territory. Also, I suggest you only take the real estate pre-licensing course if you are seriously considering making a legitimate career out of it.

The good news is that you can still be a successful real estate investor without being a real estate agent or taking the pre-licensing course. What I suggest you do is find a real estate agent that is also an investor. They will understand exactly what you are trying to do and be able to help you achieve your real estate goals.
